The Upper Yough River

The Upper Yough River (pronounced "Yock") is one of the steepest and most glorious Class V whitewater runs in the Eastern United States.

The Upper Yough is conveniently located just miles off of Interstate 68 in Friendsville, Maryland (just one exit East of the West Virginia line). Upper Yough Expeditions has over 30 years experience in showing our guests this fabulous piece of whitewater. This amazing whitewater run is available 3 days a week from mid-April through mid-October. Check out the 2016 whitewater dates. For more information on the Upper Yough run see the whole rundown on the Upper Yough page.
